Between screenings, images are captured by a variety of material and technological devices which record and replay representations of individuals who engage with the work. Comprising of two screens, the apparatus features an analogue screen in the form of a two-way mirror and a digital screen in the form of a translucent mesh textile and data projectors. Garments, accessories and wearable artefacts by recent graduates of the Bachelor of Fashion (Design) program at RMIT University and local independent designers can be observed throughout the film.Įach evening, the film is screened intermittently on the physical apparatus. The artwork experiments with various filmmaking techniques through a blend of live-action footage, photogrammetry, 3D modelling, animation, and AI-generated imagery. Located at Argyle Square, Lygon St in Carlton, Victoria, the work also questions the role of public space in a world in which civic participation is largely played out via the interface of the screen, and the capacity for technology, material interfaces and moving images to elicit new types behaviours and happenings to occur in public settings. Some artists have found a new home outside of art galleries as couples strive to create interactive art experiences for their wedding guests. ![]() Spotlighting a lineup of local emerging and independent designers, the artwork explores themes surrounding fashion and bodies, their representation through images, and identity in an era of screens and image saturation.
